Slide show of recent quilts

Another Kaleidoscope quilt...Finally mine is done

The Slide show above is of the last 3 quilts that I have completed....FINALLY..

I finally got my flag fabric kaleidoscope quilt done... (thanks to my sister sort of prodding me along). We both used the exact same flag fabric, but both quilts are so entirely different when finished.

The yellow quilt is a stach and whack quilt that I did a while back, but it had never got quilted yet, so while I had the use of my friends quilting machine that is computerized, I quilted it and got it finished also.

The third quilt is another stack and whack that I did, it is not bound in the picture, but will be bound in black and white checkered fabric. The fabric was chickens, so each square is very unique, one you have to see in person to appreciate it fully.... so you are welcome to come visit to see it anytime you want...

Kathy's latest quilt...

This is the pictures of Kathy's quilt after she got all the hand sewing on the binding done. She was really happy with the results and I was glad that she was happy.. I know that she will make many more quilts because I have her addicted to sewing now...
The quilting design was called Star spangled, but it is hard to see on her quilt. When I post my quilt, I have the back of my quilt in cream color and the design is in red, so it will be able to be seen better... and YES I used the same design on both of our quilts.

Fun day with my Sister Kathy

Yesterday, my sister Kathy came down and met me in spanish fork, and we used my friends computerized quilting machine to quilt her flag kaleidoscope quilt that she had sewn all together. The story behind her flad quilt is that I had the fabric, and when I got looking, I had enough to do 2 kaleidoscope quilts. I cut mine out, and showed her how fun the circle parts were turning out, and after she finished her first kaleidoscope quilt, she said she had so much fun doing it, that she wanted to do another one, so I gave her the other half of the flag fabric. Her quilt is now all done and quilted, and she is doing the had sewing on the binding, and mine is still circle blocks, but I did sew the corner pieces on them tonight and started to square them up.
Kathy promises to send me pictures of her quilt as soon as she gets it all bound so that I can put pictures of it on here.... so I will post as soon as I can.
I am determined now to get mine quilted before my friend comes back from Seattle, cause I don't know if she will be as willing to let me use her machine when she gets home. She was kind enough to leave me the key to her shop, so I could quilt while she is gone..... I am so glad for considerate friends, and my wonderful sister... I Love you Kathy....

A new quilt is done.

Last week, I was able to go to Spanish Fork and use my friend Brenda's computerized quilting machine while she is in Washington with a new grandbaby. This quilt was fabric my good friend Lynda's and she had never gotten it put together and finished, so she asked me if I would do it for her. The finished result turned out so nice. I used an Oak leaf and acorn design on it with red, green and yellow variegated thread. the back of the quilt was the dark green that the border on the front it.

November Snow storm

Well, I guess I can say that we got our first official snow storm last night. There was only a skiff on the vehicle when I got up to go tend Hailey, but it was snow, it was cold, and it was wet... What more does it have to be???
I hope we don't have too bad of a winter, but I know we need the moisture, so I vote we keep all the moisture up in the mountains with lots of snow there and not too much on the valley floors..... anyone agree?
